ABBEY Villa have started their search for a new first team manager after parting ways with Brian Hylands.
Former Bangor and Dundela defender Hylands, who finished his playing career with Abbey, was assistant to 2022 NAFL Division 1A- winning manager Scott Collins.
He took the reigns after Collins stepped down due to family and work commitments in February 2025 and went on to lead the club to a sixth-place finish in his first full season.
However, with his side finishing 26 points behind champions Derriaghy CC, Villa have now announced the departure of Hylands.
A club statement read: “After careful consideration, Abbey Villa FC have made the difficult decision to part ways with first team manager Brian Hylands with immediate effect.
“This decision by the club committee has not been taken lightly, given Brian’s service to the club as a player, coach and manager over 12 years at Adams Park.
“All at Abbey Villa wish to thank Brian for his dedication and the contributions he has made during his time at the club and wish not only him, but his family, the very best, and they naturally will always be welcome at Adams Park.”
With pre-season fast approaching ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, the club inviting applications for the vacant position.
In a second club statement, they said: “Abbey Villa FC would like to welcome expressions of interest for the position of first team manager ahead of the 2026/27 NAFL Premier Section season.
“Interested parties are asked to make contact through the club email.”
