THE Ards and North Down Job Fair returns to the Ards Blair Mayne Wellbeing and Leisure Complex in Newtownards, on Thursday, March 19, from 11am to 2pm.
The fair will offer informative space for anyone exploring new employment, training or business opportunities.
Supported by the Department for Communities (DfC) and delivered by Ards and North Down Labour Market Partnership, the annual event brings together employers, support agencies and skills specialists to help people take their next step – whether they’re entering the job market for the first time, returning to work, or considering a new direction.
Labour Market Partnerships, which create targeted employment action plans for council areas, are funded by the Department for Communities, and allow for collaboration at local and regional level to support people towards and into work. They also play a key role in strengthening local employment pathways.
This year’s Job Fair will host around 60 exhibitors from a diverse range of industries. Employers will be available to speak directly with attendees, offering insight into current vacancies, future recruitment needs and the skills they value most. Several organisations will also be carrying out on-the-day conversations or interviews, making it an ideal chance for jobseekers to make a strong first impression.
A major feature of the event is the range of free one-to-one support services available. Visitors can access personalised guidance on career planning, CV development and job searching from the Department for the Economy Careers Service, DfC Job Search Services, specialist disability support organisations and local enterprise agencies. Those thinking about starting a business can also receive practical advice and signposting.
BSL interpreters will be available between 11am and 12.30pm.
