A YOUNG Bangor girl has picked up two medals at the World ITF Taekwon-Do Championships in Edinburgh.
Ten year-old Maddie Reid won silver in team sparring and a bronze in individual sparring, one of five young people from Northern Ireland to bring home medals.
The competition took place over ten hours, on eight mats simultaneously, with medals awarded for special techniques, individual and team patterns and individual and team sparring events, in various age, belt and height divisions.
Most of the youngsters competed in five different events each, throughout the day. In total, the Northern Ireland team won 48 medals, made up of 28 gold, twelve silver and eight bronze medals.
