A BANGOR nurse has retired after four decades of dedicated service.
Sister Gina Mitchell has said farewell to the fracture clinic at the Ulster Hospital as she retires after an extraordinary 42-year career, marking the end of an era.
Gina’s nursing journey started over four decades ago in the Ulster Hospital, with the last 28 years as a sister in the fracture clinic. Over the years, Gina has become a much-loved nurse within the clinic, renowned for her kindness, professionalism and dedication ensuring the well-being of every patient under her care.
Gina said: “I really couldn’t have got to where I am today without the help and support of all my colleagues, both nursing and medical, they have been the heart of my career.
“They are a great bunch of people.”
Her expertise in fracture management and her compassionate approach to patient care have earned her the respect and admiration of both patients and colleagues.
Wishing Gina well in her next chapter, interim Assistant Director of Medicine, Noel Black, said: “I would like to thank Gina for her many years of service and wish her a fulfilling and well-deserved retirement.
“Her legacy of compassion, dedication and excellence will continue to inspire those who have had the privilege of working alongside her.”
