Bangor firsts after their win over Crumlin.

BANGOR delivered a strong performance against Crumlin to secure a convincing 59–39 victory.

From the opening whistle, Bangor settled into the match quickly, finding their flow early and setting the tone for the match.

The opening quarter saw Bangor’s defensive unit apply relentless pressure, producing numerous turnovers. This allowed Bangor to transition the ball at speed down the court, with quick passages of play.

In attack, Rachael Gowdy (GA) and Alison McClune (GS) were composed, converting shots with confidence and providing strong support and reliable finishing.

Bangor continued to control the match in the second quarter, maintaining high ball speed and strong connection through the midcourt. Lynda Perkins (C) and Aimee Trainor (WA) worked tirelessly to link defence and attack, delivering the ball into the shooting circle.

Defensive pressure remained high across the court, keeping Crumlin under pressure and allowing Bangor to extend their lead going into half time.

The final quarter saw further positional changes as Lucie Young moved into WA and Caoimhe Fenlon into C, allowing Bangor to trial new combinations while maintaining control of the match.

Yazmin Bleakley returned from injury at WD, lifting the intensity of the defensive unit and bringing fresh energy to the court. The girls were buzzing to have her back on court and it was as if she had never left.

The team continued to connect well at high speed, with strong through-court defence from all seven players.
