BANGOR’s iconic Savoy has taken centre stage once again — this time as the winner of Residential Development of the Year at the Belfast Telegraph Property Awards 2025.

Clanmil Housing received the honour, sponsored by Progressive Building Society, for its stunning new Savoy apartment development in the heart of Bangor.

The scheme adds 26 two-bedroom apartments for people aged 55 and over, blending modern design with Art Deco influences that celebrate the heritage of the original 1932 Savoy hotel. The project also marked a major milestone — Clanmil’s 6,000th home.

Jan Sloan, Executive Director of Development and New Business at Clanmil Housing, said: “This is a proud moment for us. We’re all about building homes and communities for people who need them. We’re delighted to be able to fulfil that mission.”

She added: “People are at the heart of everything we do. We’re in the middle of a housing crisis, and our goal as a social enterprise is to deliver more homes, to get people off waiting lists and into places they can call home.

“What keeps us motivated is seeing people move into good-quality homes they love and knowing that we’re improving lives.”
