Auditor critical after SERCO pockets unspent energy funds

SERCO has been handed more than half a million pounds of public money due to a council contract cock-up.
The public services firm pocketed the money over the course of 10 years after the council included a clause in its deal that, provincewide authorities now say, should never have existed.
Serco took over all council-owned leisure services in the North Down area in 2014, including popular sites such as Bangor Aurora Leisure Centre, Queen’s Leisure Complex in Holywood and Bangor Sportsplex.
