Crawfordsburn Country parkrun marked its 200th event on Saturday, with 102 participants including 16 first-timers. Since its launch on 29 February 2020, the picturesque 5k course, featuring Skelly Hill, the Coastal Path, and the Glen has been completed 15,147 times by 4,163 different runners and walkers.
Part of the wider parkrun initiative, Crawfordsburn is one of 41 free, weekly 5k events across Northern Ireland, with new events recently starting in Lurgan, Coleraine, and Omagh.
Donald Smith currently leads the event as Director, following Andrew Muir MLA. Organisers extended thanks to the dedicated volunteers, the NI Environment Agency, and Woodlands Café for their ongoing support of the community event.
