MAYOR of Ards and North Down Gillian McCollum has congratulated Bangor West resident, Jim Holden on attaining his 100th birthday.
The Mayor said: “I was absolutely delighted to pay a visit to my former neighbour Jim Holden of Crawfordsburn Road, Bangor to wish him a very happy 100th birthday on behalf of the borough and to present him with a small present commemorating his centenary.
“Jim was very pleased to receive birthday cards from Their Majesties King Charles and Queen Camilla and the President of Ireland, Ms Catherine Connolly. He also enjoyed a very jolly afternoon tea party with his cousin and neighbours who surprised him with presents and a lovely birthday cake.
“Jim still lives in his childhood home and lives life to the full. A role model for us all.”
