NORTH Down Boxing Club member Mason Blair was victorious at last weekend’s Ulster Novice Championships in Gilford.
Competing at 60kg, Mason won his semi-final against Turlough McHugh from Gallbally BC by way of second round stoppage to earn his place in the final on Sunday.
Buoyed by his stoppage the day before, Mason went into his final full of confidence. He controlled the bout with a dominant performance to win and become nine counties novice champion.
