The children of Trinity Nursery School, in Bangor, are enjoying their new playground which was officially opened last week.
The special opening ceremony was attended by North Down MP, Stephen Farry, along with members of the Board of Governors including chairwoman Josephine Murray and Education Authority Governor representative councillor Connie Egan.
A team of parents and staff at the nursery have been working on the project since February 2021.
The staff, parents and children have worked tirelessly to fundraise, design and plan for the transformation and are grateful to have the support of the local community in the endeavour, raising over £6,000 to purchase play equipment.
The children helped choose the equipment themselves which includes a castle tower climbing frame, waterfall complete with pump, a rock wall tunnel, balancing seesaw, role play riders, mark making and music stands to finish it off.
Trinity Nursery has kept a few items from before the transformation such as their beach huts which were generously donated by the Derry family in 2016.
The Education Authority funded and provided the ground works for the play area and the staff are looking forward to seeing the children spending the summer term exploring the new outdoor area and making the most of the great outdoors.
