THE former Mayor of North Down, Alan Graham, has thanked local people for their ‘help, support and prayers’ following the sudden death of his eldest son David recently.
Forty eight year-old David Graham was travelling back to Saudi Arabia where he worked with British Aeronautical Engineering, when he died suddenly in Istanbul last Friday.
His father Alan Graham, a former DUP alderman, was the inaugural Mayor of the new Ards and North Down Council, and a longstanding local councillor.
Paying tribute to his son, Mr Graham described David as ‘adventurous and independent’ and said he had enjoyed spending a few days at home with his family in Bangor before his sad passing.
He said: “David was always very independent and adventurous and he worked in a number of different countries such as France, Italy, Malta, Turkey and London. He was adventurous and always on the go.”
Mr Graham thanked the many people who had rallied round his family at this difficult time saying: “We are very grateful for the help, support and prayers we have received from people.”
