A RESOLUTE defensive display from Sullivan Upper on Saturday morning saw them through to the last eight of the Schools’ Cup, where they will lock horns again with their semi-final opponents from two years ago.
The side coached by Adam Craig kept a clean sheet in a 15-0 win over Down High School as Jacob McKeown and Finn McGrath crossed for tries and Harry Calvert added five points with the boot.
The Holywood school’s reward is a home tie against Ballymena Acadmey on Saturday, February 7 – in a repeat encounter of the 2024 semi-final at Ravenhill.
It was a comfortable last 16 assignment for Ballymena who ran in seven tries on their way to a comprehensive victory over Portadown College.
Sullivan’s last and only appearance in a Schools’ Cup final was in 2014, when they were beaten 27-12 by Methodist College Belfast.
