GIRLS from Trinity Girls’ Brigade achieved a number of successes at the recent finals of the Northern Ireland Girls’ Brigade competition, where members of the Bangor-based 8th Company competed in various categories.
At the finals held at Parkhall College in Antrim, Trinity’s Explorer team were crowned first place winners, while the Junior Team also secured an a first place finish. The Brigader team performed well, earning second place in Northern Ireland, with Olivia and Lilly also representing their section as solo Brigader participants.
In a tight and closely contested Senior competition, Senior skipper Lucy achieved a commendable seventh place, while the Senior team secured an impressive fourth place finish overall against very strong competition.
Captain Debbie McMullan congratulated the girls on their fantastic achievements and praised their positive attitude throughout the day. She said: “I am incredibly proud of all the girls and their wonderful achievements. They worked very hard to prepare for the competition, and it was lovely to see that effort rewarded. Most importantly, the girls had so much fun meeting and competing with other Girls’ Brigade members from across Northern Ireland, making new friendships and enjoying such a special day together.
“I would also like to sincerely thank our dedicated officers for their time, commitment, and encouragement in helping prepare the girls, as well as our parents and families for their continued support. Their encouragement plays such an important role in making opportunities like this possible.”
